Should I Buy Cheap Embroidery Supplies?

So you just spent a lot of money on your embroidery machine and now need to save some money on embroidery supplies. Maybe you bought an expensive single needle Baby lock or a multi-needle Brother embroidery machine and are now short of funds for embroidery supplies.

Though it's tempting to cut costs and find the lowest cost products you can, often these are also low quality and in the end, not worth your money. You spent a lot of money on your machine and should feed it with high quality supplies to ensure that is runs well and stitches correctly.

If you choose a good supplier, like AllStitch, you don't have to spend a lot of money to get quality supplies. Buying quality embroidery supplies will result in better embroidery, time saved, and a better finished product.

  • Cheap threads are usually just that, cheap threads. They can cause poor stitching quality and break often. For not much money, you can use a high quality thread, like Madeira Polyester, and you will get beautiful colors with less fading and bleeding, and smoother embroidery with less breaks.

  • Higher quality embroidery and sewing scissors were designed for the unique tasks of cutting thread and fabric. Choosing embroidery specific tools will make your job easier and reduce frustration. Bargain basement products from your dollar store may not do the job you need them for.

  • High quality backings and stabilizers are the foundation of your embroidery. Consider taking advantage of AllStitch's volume discounts and buying a larger bundle or roll to reduce your per piece or per yard cost. This is much better then buying a low cost backing that will not provide the stabilization you need and possible ruin an expensive garment.

  • At any good embroidery shop you will find all of the best quality embroidery supplies you would ever need. There are many tools you will need in order to operate a successful embroidery business.

Don’t confuse cheap and inexpensive. Cheap products are just that, cheaply made no matter how much they cost. Good quality products can be found inexpensive if you do your research. That’s what I did when I bought my first embroidery machine, I researched. I chose AllStitch.com for my supplies because of the quality products at a great price. Not affiliated, just a happy long time customer.

Makes no sense to me that after spending, sometimes many thousands of dollars on a tool [your machine] you would then scrimp on supplies. No way to protect your investment nor provide you with peace of mind when doing a project. Give yourself a break.
